Result Summary |
Allele and haplotype frequencies did not differ between cases and controls. For the two previously associated markers, the allele frequencies were as follows: rs11146020 (cases 93.9% G, 6.1% C; controls 93.3% G, 6.7% C) and rs10747050 (cases 95.8% A, 4.2% G; controls 94.6% A, 5.4% G). Given their recent finding that the association between G72/G30 and BD was mainly due to a lifetime history of persecutory delusions and that G72/G30 is supposed to play a pivotal role in the activation of the NR1 subunit, they hypothesized that restricting case definition to those 107 individuals with a history of persecutory delusions might clarify the relationship between BD and GRIN1. However, this stratified analysis did not yield any significant association either. Their results do not support an association of the GRIN1 gene with BD in the German population. |
