Detail Info
Sample Diagnosis |
RDC |
Sample Status |
All patients were diagnosed using SADS-L and RDC for bipolar disorder. The controls, matched for ethnic origin and age, were selected from attenders at King's college Hospital haematology clinic. The psychiatric status of the control subjects was not assessed. |
Technique |
PCR and DNA hybridization |
Statistical Method |
chi-square tests |
Result Summary |
Allele 122 bp was more common in controls (X2 = 8.85, df = 1, P-value = 0.003) and allele 134 bp was more common in cases (X2 = 5.62, df = 1, P-value = 0.02). Of the 7 markers , PLA2A shows significant association with bipolar disorder. |
