Detail Info
Sample Diagnosis |
DSM |
Sample Status |
The patient groups were inpatients at Veterans General Hospital-Taipei.Consensus diagnosis based on interview, clinical observation, medical record, and past history by two psychiatrists according to the DSM-IV criteria was made for each patient. A total of 147 normal comparison subjects who accepted a semistructure interview by a psychiatric staff to rule out psychiatric problems were included to test the association of the 5-HT6 C267T polymorphism with mood disorders. The sample was all ethnic Chinese. |
Technique |
PCR and RFLP |
Statistical Method |
Chi-square tests |
Result Summary |
The results demonstrated that there were no significant differences in genotype or allele frequencies between controls and all patients, or between controls and patients with bipolar disorders or major depression, separately. |
