Statistical Method |
Association of SNPs with bipolar disorder was analyzed for allelic and genotypic association using Chi-square analysis and Fisher's exact test. The Danish cases, the Danish controls, the British cases and the British controls were in Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium (P-values 0.16, 0.29, 0.44, 0.48, respectively). |
Result Summary |
The allele and genotype frequencies were very similaramongcases and controls in the total and in the British sample. In the Danish sample, the genotype-wise P-value was 0.045. It is still possible that other polymorphisms in the NOS1 gene could have a role in the genetic susceptibility to schizophrenia or bipolar disorder. |
