Detail Info
| Sample Diagnosis |
DSM-IV |
| Sample Status |
The Chinese version of the Schedule for Affective Disorders and Schizophrenia-Lifetime (SADS-L), which has good reliability and validity, was used to screen all participants' psychiatric conditions, to confirm that they fit DSM-IV diagnostic criteria, and to verify that the participants had no physical and mental comorbidities. Subjects who had sleep disorder, substance abuse, mood swing or possible psychiatric traits in life were first excluded from controls. |
| Technique |
PCR |
| Statistical Method |
One-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), and then the Tukey-Kramer Post-hoc test was used for statistical evaluations. A _2 test was used for categorical variables. |
| Result Summary |
the distribution of the BDNF Val66Met SNP was not different between schizophrenia, bipolar I disorder, bipolar II disorder and controls (_2 = 5.289, p = 0.507). |
