Sample Diagnosis	Structured Clinical Interview for DSM-IV Axis I Disorders (SCID)
Sample Status	Patients were recruited from inpatients, treated at the Department of Adult Psychiatry, Poznan University of Medical Sciences. The psychotic symptoms were assessed by Operational Criteria Checklist of Psychotic Illness (OPCRIT). The occurrence of delusions or hallucinatory symptoms was defined as lifetime psychotic symptoms. Patients were classified as having positive history of psychosis if a YES rating was given on at least one of 21 OPCRIT symptoms.
Technique	genotyping using TagMan SNP Genotyping Assays
Statistical Method	The two-tailed Pearson's chi-square (_2) test and Fisher's exact test were used to test differences in the genotypic and allelic (respectively) distribution between the groups of patients and control subjects. Two-tailed power analysis was also performed. Calculations were performed using the computer programme Statistica version 9.0. Odds ratios were calculated using 2_2 contingency tables with use of Fisher's exact test in a demo version of GraphPad InStat 3 software.
Result Summary	The association of polymorphisms rs28536160 genotype TT of the AVPR1b gene and polymorphisms rs1293651 of CRHR1 gene with psychotic features in the course of BPI.LIMITATIONS: The main limitation of our study is the small sample size of the group of patients with psychotic features. The results of our study suggest that the studied polymorphisms may increase susceptibility for obtaining psychotic features in the course of BP I.
