We performed power analyses for the SNPs using two different calculation programs, the analytical TDT-Power Calculator and the PBAT program, implementing a Monte-Carlo simulation. For both SNPs, assuming an additive model and disease allele frequencies of 10 and 30%, we had sufficient power (>80%) to detect an effect at an alpha level of 0.00001. Even with a disease allele frequency as high as 50% we had sufficient power at nominal level of significance. The Transmission Disequilibrium Test (TDT) as implemented in GENEHUNTER was applied for analysis of parent-offspring triads. |
| Result Summary |
Using the Transmission Disequilibrium Test (TDT), no significant differences in transmissions were observed for any of the three ADRA genes. |
