All the subjects were unrelated Han Chinese from Anhui Province. Among the 480 bipolar patients, 398 (82.9%) were diagnosed with type I bipolar, 79 (16.5%) were diagnosed with type II bipolar disorder, and three (0.6%) were diagnosed with cyclothymia.Normal controls were chosen from a random population. |
